Should Your Next Promotional Product Be a Desk Accessory?

Should Your Next Promotional Product Be a Desk Accessory?

Desk accessories are a broad category – so broad you won’t see it as a category on our website, instead you’ll see we drilled down into categories like imprinted pens, awards and recognition, drinkware (you get the idea), to make your search easier.

Here’s Why Desk Accessories Make Great Tradeshow Giveaways

One of the things I always tell customers before they go for the super cute promotional item, like the screaming monkeys, know your target audience.

Are you giving the items to children? Great. If not, you’ll give away a lot of them (cute items go fast) but you can be assured they’ll end up on your potential customer’s floor as a gift to his kid from his most recent business trip.

From a marketing perspective, this does nothing for your brand.

On the other hand, 61% of desk accessories stay at the office, right in front of the decision maker (assuming that’s who you gave it to).

Types of Desk Accessories

There’s a desk accessory to fit every budget, brand, and marketing strategy. Some of the most popular logoed items are:

  • Pens
  • Stress balls
  • Cups
  • Business card holders
  • Calendars
  • iPad covers
  • USBs
  • Clips
  • Sticky notes

Desk accessories can be divided into two groups – disposable and non-disposable. While everything is technically disposable, items like calendars and sticky notes will run their course and be used up, versus a mug that has years of use. This is something to consider in your marketing strategy.

Another thing to keep in mind is that if you select a tried-and-true desk accessory, there’s a great likelihood your potential customer already has one. That’s where a little creativity, or unique design, can make the sale. For instance, people have a lot of pens but a pen in the shape of something meaningful (or funny) to the recipient gets a laugh and people keep it around, like a syringe pen for nurses.

Desk accessories are wonderful ways to stay top-of-mind if your ideal customer sits at a desk most of the day. Talk to the team at ThinkQuik to discover the best promotional item for your brand and event.
