At Think Quik, we are all about making sure you have the tools you need to tell your company story. As you prepare for trade shows and other events where you need marketing materials, think about the kinds of swag you are ordering. Are they just trinkets, or do they actually tell your story? Your giveaways have a job to do. Using them to tell your business story is a great way to put them to work and best of all…it doesn’t have to break the bank.
Swag That Sells
While pens and keychains will always be useful for getting your contact information out there, if you want some new, fresh ideas, think about ordering giveaways that tell what your business does, instead of items that simply serve as marketing materials.
Make your giveaways do double duty by picking items that will remind people what you do. There are a variety of items, unique to your own business, that can do just that.
For example:
If you sell computers, or are marketing to computer companies, consider items that would be useful in the tech world. Computer cleaning cloths, USB flash drives, and mousepads make great giveaways. Every time a customer uses one of those items, they will think of your business and how it relates to their computer or other tech items. Then, you will be at the top of their list to call for any tech needs.
Stress balls are great for therapeutic businesses, such as massage therapists, chiropractors, and counselors. They will remind people that you help take the stress out of life. You could also consider wellness and first aid kits, because those are useful in a variety of situations and will remind your potential clients that your business also helps heal.
Do you sell food? Are you a bakery or the local diner? There are lots of creative options for you to pass out to customers at local events, or even keep in your shop for people to buy. Samples of your food in a personalized box, reusable grocery bags for people to use while shopping, food containers, lunch bags, and any type of cup or glass with your logo. Make sure you pick items that relate to or remind people of food.
Perhaps you are a coffee shop – a coffee mug would make the most sense for your business. Also, consider travel mugs and tumblers. Anything that a client can use to put a drink in will remind them of your delicious coffee.
Are you in the automotive business? There are tons of giveaways related to cars, and they won’t cost you an arm and a leg. From license plate covers to car sun shades to phone mounts…there are lots of different products clients can use in their car. And when they do, they will think of your business.
Do you sell books? Bookmarks or journals are the perfect reminders of what you do. Add your contact information and a creative design and you are ready to go!
Swag Souvenirs
Think about products not just for marketing, but also as keepsakes. When people visit they want something to take home with them. You can get small items to give away, or larger items they can purchase to take home. If you serve a destination spot, know many of your customers will want to remember the places they visited.
Giveaways are wonderful marketing materials, and there are so many options. On a basic level, they all have your logo and contact information, but if you want to take it a step further, use them as another opportunity to really tell your story.
Your giveaways should tell what you do, so as you consider purchasing marketing materials, think about ones that will make the most impact – and have a lasting impression – on your current and future clients.
